Patan Durbar square is located 5 kilometers away, south east of the city. The city is full of Buddhist and Hindu monuments which carry history since 2 nd BC since Samrat Ashoka erected the 4 stupas and set the center as Patan. It has its most magnificent architectural splendor and unique beauty. Each of the monuments, squares, Bihars (ancient dwelling for Bhiksu, Buddhist monks) has unique arts, carvings and importance.
