ROUND MANASLU - 18 DAYS

The Manaslu Himal is the mountain region between the two big rivers, Burhi Gandaki and Marsyangdi. It is also called the Gorkha Himal. Manaslu (8,163m.) is the only 8,000m. peak in this region. Peak 29 (7,871mtrs) and Himalchuli (7,893mtrs) alongside Manaslu are well known as the three peaks of Manaslu. This trek can commence from Ankhu Khola or Gorkha and it takes around two weeks to trek as far as Dharapani. It is possible to trek via the old village of Barpark and Laprak village with steep ascents and steep descents to reach Soti Khola. It is important to take our time when we are at high altitude with less walking hours per day. We take an extra day acclimatization for visiting local areas before crossing high passes. It can be a long trek of 16- 20 days with the possibility of an extention to the recently opened Nupri side.

On crossing over the Larkya La, there is a higher risk of getting altitude sickness so we again take sufficient time for acclimatization. From time to time, late November on, we may find the Larkya La impassable because of heavy snows. You are advised to plan this trek in early autumn.

It should also be noted that a special permit, is required from the government for this route.
