ANNAPURNA PANAROMA - 9 DAYS
Overview
On arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transfered to your Hotel and briefed about your entire programme. We start off with sightseeing in Kathmandu and then to The Annapurna region, which is regarded as the most popular place for trekking. Stunning mountain scenery, relaxed walking on well-defined trails where many good quality local lodges are available. We explore the terraced hillsides and beautiful forest, meet friendly villagers and enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery in style and comfort.
From Kathmandu, we fly west to the lakeside town of Pokhara at the foot of the Annapurna range and drive to the trek starting point at Naya Pul. From here we follow the Modi Khola River to the picturesque village of Shyauli, back-dropped by stunning views of the “fishtail” peak Machhapuchare (6993m), and ascend through terraced fields and small thatched hamlets to Ghandruk. Our lodge is located close to the heart of the village and we have plenty of time to explore and photograph the magnificent views of Annapurna South, Huinchuli and Machhapuchhare which dominate the skyline beyond the village.
Continuing to ascend we follow the trail through magnificent forests of oak and rhododendron to Tadapani and then continue to climb above the tree line to an alpine ridge at Deurali. From here, we enjoy an early morning sunrise excursion above our lodge to view one of the most spectacular panoramas in Nepal. A sea of peaks line the horizon, the Dhaulagari Himal, the Annapurna range, and the magnificent peak of Manaslu, a stunning vista encompassing three mountains over the magic 8000-metre mark. From Deaurali we follow an old trading route, back to Naya Phul and Pokhara. We stay one night in Pokhara, where we relax close to the shores of Lake Phewa, before returning to Kathmandu. Again we stay 2 nights in Kathmandu to relax and take in a little souvenir shopping before leaving for home.
