A trek in Nepal is a special and rewarding mountain holiday. KATHMANDU IS NOT ONLY NEPAL ! When you have time and energy to trek, you should not miss the opportunity to leave Kathmandu and see the country’s spectacular beauty and unique culture. There are many roads connecting to Kathmandu as capital valley, an hour to full day travel in smooth to rough road depending upon your closer to remote trek areas. The road is extending rapidly by the support of each local community. Also it has great possibility to take a less than hour domestic flights (increasing number of airports) to reach proper altitude point to start your trek journey. Trekking requires more time and effort, but the rewards are also greater. It takes you through a country that has captured the imagination of mountaineers and explorers for more than 100 years. You will meet people in remote mountain villages whose lifestyle has not changed in generations. Nepal is one of the only handful of countries that have never been ruled by a foreign power.
While trekking in Nepal, you will see the great diversity of Nepal. Villages embrace many ethnic groups and cultures. The terrain changes from tropical jungle to high-glaciated peaks in the space only in 150km. From the start, the towering peaks of the Himalayas provide one of the highlights of trek. As your plane approaches Kathmandu, these peaks can be seen on the horizon. During trek, Himalayas disappear behind Nepal’s continual hills, but the high peaks dominate the northern skyline at each pass.
The beauty and attraction for Nepal Himalayas emanates not only from the mountains themselves, but also from the surrounding. Nepal is a country of friendly people, picturesque villages and an amazing variety of cultures and traditions that seem to attract many visitors.
Trekking can be done in many ways now depending on the areas you choose: Depending upon your time and fitness possibility, we can support to choose your treks.
- For shorter holiday of 5-10 days and minimum level of height about 2000m : Around Kathmandu or Pokhara valley hiking or trekking are popular possibilities.
- For long holiday like 10 day/-2-3 weeks – altitude above 2000 to 5600m: Annapurna, Langtang, Everest are familiar areas where you can trek in camps or more in lodges.
- For longer holiday like 3-6 weeks- altitude above 3000 to 5600m: Crossing frequent high passes of above 4000 meter and via frequent national park and reaching to some specially protected areas are Dolpo, Mustang, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga, Rolwaling, Dhaulagiri, Humla, Makalu.
The most popular way to trek is to use local trekking lodges for accommodation and meals. There are many basic lodges in between 2-3 hours in the popular areas. You are limited to rely on local facilities of for food and shelter. Cost are cheaper in low land and expensive in upper and remote land. Service of our guide and porters will make your holiday better and easier !
Places where lodge are not frequently available, we arrange camping. It is a classic style of trek that we supply food and provision and carry all the way to the camping spot, setting up camp, cook and serve meal. You carry only your necessary day pack with water bottle. Depending on your fitness possibilities/experience: we can go for tailor-made, only required minimum services of local staff/facilities to high standard luxurious services. Cost matters !.
Also every opportunities are available depending upon your interest to add more exciting by holiday by adding extra excitements such as: Tour, Safari, Bird watching, Rafting/Kayaking, Climbing trekking peak to high Mountains, Paragliding, Mountain Flight, Heli Sightseeing etc…
TREK GRADING
The Following Is Designed To Be A Rough Guide To Help You Select The Trek That Suits You Best.
Moderate/Reasonable. More remote country, often camping in the wild, the occasional 7 or 8 hour day (camp to camp) but not more than 5 days consecutive walking. Altitude gains of up to 600m. a day.
- Adventurous/Vigorous. Up to 9 days consecutive walking including high passes up to 4500m. (With snow covering), but more typically on passes of 3650-4300m. Again, occasionally a 7 or 8 hour day, but usually 5 or 6 hours. A long way from any road!
- Challenging / Strenuous. Only one of our treks, "A Himalayan Summit" fully merits this grade. This is purely on account of its altitude, 6000m. Given the time for acclimatization, this is well within the grasp of the fit and healthy.
